Karina  González was crowned Nuestra Belleza Aguascalientes the night of July 7, 2011, and subsequently represented her state in the national competition, held in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, where she competed against thirty-four young women from all over the country. González became the first Nuestra Belleza México winner from Aguascalientes on August 20, 2011. She was crowned by the outgoing national titleholder Karin Ontiveros, and reigning Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarrete.

Karina Gonzalez represented Mexico at the Miss Universe 2012 competition. She was one of the favorites prior to the coronation night. She placed in the Top 16 and advanced further to the Top 10, wearing a resplendent red evening gown with generous slit. The design of the gown she wore was reminiscent of what Miss Universe 2010 and fellow Mexican Ximena Navarrete wore when she was crowned, incidentally, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Life and Career
Ana de la Reguera began her performance arts studies in the Instituto Veracruzano de Cultura and was the host of Pasarela on Televisa Veracruz. Her mother was a Miss Veracruz who became a journalist and
TV personality. Ana de la Requera made her introduction to film began in Por la libre, under the direction of Juan Carlos de Llaca. Later she acted in the film Un Secreto de Esperanza and in 2003 Ladies Night, alongside Ana Claudia Talancón. In 2005 she played the starring role in Gitanas which aired on Telemundo in the United States. She is perhaps best known for her role as Sister Encarnación in Nacho Libre,  a film by Jared Hess, director of Napoleon Dynamite. She also played a small role in the movie, Cowboys & Aliens. In 2010, she played the historical Josefa Quintana, a mistress of Father Miguel Hidalgo, hero of the Mexican War of Independence. Other ventures In 2006, Reguera hosted the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America along with Mexican alternative rock group Molotov. She is currently working with Argos Comunicación on the HBO Latin American series "Capadocia" along with Rebecca Jones and also serves as a spokesperson for CoverGirl cosmetics. Reguera appeared as Kenny Powers' love interest in Season 2 of HBO's hit series Eastbound & Down.
